Day-by-day itinerary
Arrival in Islamabad
Meet your private driver at Islamabad International Airport and transfer to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, enjoy a gentle introduction to the capital or simply rest after the flight. Your local team reviews the northern weather forecast, domestic flight arrangements and practical contingency options with you. Overnight in Islamabad.
Islamabad to Skardu and Kachura
Take the planned flight from Islamabad to Skardu, subject to weather, airline operations and confirmed seats. After settling in, visit Kachura or nearby village landscapes for your first introduction to Baltistan. Orchard stops depend on the flowering stage and local access. If the flight is cancelled, a road alternative may require additional travel days and a revised quotation. Overnight Skardu.
Shigar Fort and Orchard Villages
Travel into Shigar Valley to explore its traditional settlement and Shigar Fort, subject to opening arrangements. Walk at an unhurried pace through suitable village lanes and orchard viewpoints, with photography opportunities chosen according to the day's light and actual blossoms. We respect cultivated land and local residents rather than entering private orchards without permission. Return to Skardu for the night.
Khaplu and the Shyok Valley
Follow the Shyok River toward Khaplu, pausing for landscape photography and glimpses of spring life in Balti villages. Explore the historic palace area and traditional architecture where accessible. The day is deliberately focused on Khaplu rather than squeezing in distant attractions. Return to Skardu in the evening, keeping the following day's transfer to Hunza more manageable. Overnight Skardu.
Skardu to Hunza by Road
Leave Skardu early for a substantial mountain-road journey toward Central Hunza via the Skardu road and Jaglot–Gilgit corridor. River gorges, changing geology and distant peaks make the drive memorable, but this is primarily a transfer day. Allow for rest stops, roadworks and possible weather-related delays. Reach Karimabad or nearby accommodation in the evening and settle in. Overnight Hunza.
Altit, Baltit and Karimabad
Spend the day discovering the heritage of Central Hunza, including Altit and Baltit forts where open, Karimabad's village lanes and spring orchards where visits are permitted. Your guide can explain local architecture, settlement history and the agricultural calendar. Pause for mountain views rather than rushing between landmarks. If visibility and energy allow, finish with a Duikar viewpoint visit. Overnight Central Hunza.
Nagar and Hopper Valley
Cross the valley to Nagar for a different view of spring in the Karakoram. Explore village terraces, orchards and Hopper's mountain scenery, with short walks selected to suit the group and ground conditions. The focus is local life and landscape photography, not a strenuous glacier trek. Blossom stages can differ markedly from Central Hunza. Return to your accommodation in Hunza for a relaxed evening.
Attabad Lake, Gulmit and Passu
Travel along the Karakoram Highway into Upper Hunza, stopping at Attabad Lake and exploring Gulmit's heritage landscape before continuing toward Passu's distinctive peaks. Higher villages can follow a different blossom calendar, so stops remain flexible. Enjoy village encounters where locally arranged and time for mountain photography. Khunjerab Pass and exposed high trails are not guaranteed or included. Overnight Hunza.
Gilgit to Islamabad
Transfer toward Gilgit Airport for the planned flight back to Islamabad, subject to airline schedules, seat confirmation and weather. Keep the rest of the day open rather than relying on a tight connection. If flights are disrupted, returning by road takes considerably longer and may require an additional night or revised departure arrangements. Overnight Islamabad when the flight operates as scheduled.
Islamabad Departure
Enjoy breakfast and a private transfer to Islamabad International Airport at the agreed time. We recommend allowing additional buffer days before an important international connection because mountain flights are not guaranteed. Your final travel documents will specify the booked hotels, transport and flights, along with any agreed alternatives. The journey concludes in Islamabad after ten days when the planned flights operate.
Accommodation and comfort
Nine nights in individually quoted private accommodation in Islamabad, Baltistan and Hunza. Hotel names, room category, meals and upgrades are confirmed before booking.
Private transport and local coordination
Private driver and vehicle in the north; planned Islamabad–Skardu and Gilgit–Islamabad domestic flights subject to availability and weather. Full road substitutions may require extra days and additional costs.
