Private northern Pakistan road journey

Hunza & Skardu Express: Private By-Air Journey – 8 Days / 7 Nights

An eight-day private journey for travellers who want both Hunza and Baltistan without spending several days on the Islamabad road approach. The product is deliberately flight-assisted: enter through the most practical northern airport, give Central Hunza, Upper Hunza and Hopper their own time, cross privately to Skardu, then finish with two considered Baltistan days before the protected flight back to Islamabad. It is not a shortened copy of the ten-day road circuit; it serves time-conscious international travellers, couples and families who value private pacing and comfortable regional depth.

Day-by-day itinerary

Day 1

Fly North and Continue to Hunza

Take the confirmed morning flight from Islamabad to Gilgit where practical, with Skardu used only when it is the better operational gateway for the dates. Meet the private vehicle and continue to Hunza. Keep sightseeing light on arrival; the purpose of the flight-assisted design is to protect time in the valleys rather than spend the first day on a long road approach. Day 2|Central Hunza - Altit, Baltit and Duikar|Explore Altit, Baltit and Karimabad with time for village lanes, irrigation channels and local history. The day is deliberately concentrated in Central Hunza rather than mixing it with Upper Hunza. Continue to Duikar for the wider valley view when weather and timing support it, then return for an unhurried evening. Day 3|Upper Hunza - Attabad, Gulmit, Hussaini and Passu|Travel through the Attabad landscape into Gojal, stopping in Gulmit, Hussaini and Passu. Village walking and local context matter as much as the familiar viewpoints. Borith can be added according to pace and road conditions. A Khunjerab extension is not forced into this compact itinerary; it is considered only when specifically requested and operationally sensible. Day 4|Hopper Valley and Nagar|Cross to Nagar for Hopper Valley and its glacier landscape, giving the opposite side of the Hunza basin its own day. Walk to the suitable viewpoint or local trail according to conditions, then return through the valley with time for photography. This protects the compact journey from becoming a sequence of rushed half-day excursions. Day 5|Hunza to Skardu|Drive privately from Hunza to Skardu on the confirmed inter-valley route. This is a substantial mountain transfer, so stops are chosen for comfort, landscape and daylight rather than an artificial sightseeing checklist. Arrive in Skardu, settle into the hotel and keep the evening flexible after the road journey. Day 6|Shigar, Sarfaranga and Skardu Landscape|Explore Shigar with its heritage setting and village context, then continue through the Sarfaranga landscape. Depending on timing, include Katpana or another nearby Skardu stop without overloading the day. The programme focuses on the character of Baltistan rather than trying to compress Khaplu, Shigar and every lake into one short visit. Day 7|Kachura and a Flexible Baltistan Day|Use the final full day for Kachura and the strongest nearby experience for the season, guest interests and current conditions. This flexible structure gives the compact tour resilience: weather, road access or a slower previous day can be absorbed without losing the journey. Optional extensions are confirmed only when they fit comfortably before departure. Day 8|Fly to Islamabad - Protected Return|Transfer to Skardu Airport for the confirmed flight to Islamabad. Mountain flights remain weather-dependent, so the quotation includes a clear contingency approach and international travellers should protect onward connections with an Islamabad buffer. If the flight operates normally, arrive in Islamabad with the remainder of the day free or continue according to the confirmed onward plan.

Important travel notes

This is Sylana's compact flight-assisted Hunza-Baltistan product. Mountain flights are weather-dependent and never treated as guaranteed; the confirmed quotation states the fallback plan and international guests should retain an Islamabad buffer. Khunjerab, Deosai and other long high-altitude extensions are not automatically forced into the eight-day structure. The ten-day Complete Road Journey remains the better choice for travellers who prefer the full road experience and more overland time.
