Hunza, Skardu and Fairy Meadows Tour – 12 Days / 11 Nights

This private 12-day Hunza, Skardu and Fairy Meadows tour combines three of northern Pakistan's most requested destinations in one carefully planned route. Begin in Islamabad, explore Skardu, Shigar and Khaplu in Baltistan, then travel overland to Hunza for historic villages, Attabad Lake, Gulmit and Passu. The final section takes you to Fairy Meadows beneath Nanga Parbat, where a locally guided hike leads to simple mountain accommodation. Walk toward Beyal Camp, with a more demanding Nanga Parbat Base Camp viewpoint option for suitable trekkers when conditions permit. The experience balances cultural touring, road travel and genuine mountain walking. This is a private, flight-assisted journey rather than a fixed departure or luxury package. Day-by-day itinerary

Day 1

Arrival in Islamabad

Meet your private driver at Islamabad International Airport and transfer to your hotel. Depending on arrival time, rest or enjoy a short orientation in the capital. Your local team reviews the flight plan, northern road conditions, trekking requirements and luggage arrangements. Overnight Islamabad.

Day 2

Flight to Skardu

Take the planned flight to Skardu, subject to confirmed seats and mountain weather. Explore the Kachura area if time permits and settle into your hotel. A cancellation may require additional road travel days and an adjusted itinerary, agreed with you before any change. Overnight Skardu.

Day 3

Shigar Valley

Explore Shigar Fort where open, traditional village architecture and scenic viewpoints. Enjoy a relaxed private pace for photography and local stories. Optional short walks depend on the group's interests and conditions. The visit can also include a local food stop if time and arrangements permit. Return to Skardu in the afternoon. Overnight Skardu.

Day 4

Khaplu and Shyok Valley

Follow the Shyok River toward Khaplu, stopping at viewpoints and traditional villages where access is arranged. Explore the palace area and local architecture before returning to Skardu. The drive takes much of the day, so sightseeing remains realistic, with breaks planned around road conditions and daylight. Overnight Skardu.

Day 5

Skardu to Hunza

Depart early for the long mountain-road journey via Jaglot and Gilgit to Central Hunza. River valleys and rugged landscapes accompany the drive, with comfort stops as needed. Roadworks or weather can extend the transfer, so no major sightseeing is scheduled. The day prioritizes safe travel over adding unnecessary stops. Overnight Hunza.

Day 6

Altit, Baltit and Karimabad

Visit Altit and Baltit forts where open, walk through Karimabad and enjoy mountain viewpoints. Your guide introduces local heritage, agriculture and architecture. If conditions allow, include a Duikar viewpoint visit, with time to enjoy the scenery rather than rushing back. Overnight Hunza.

Day 7

Attabad, Gulmit and Passu

Travel through Upper Hunza to Attabad Lake, Gulmit and Passu. Explore village heritage, mountain views and suitable short walks, with time for photography. Khunjerab Pass and exposed high trails are not part of the guaranteed programme. Return to Hunza and prepare a small bag for Fairy Meadows. Overnight Hunza.

Day 8

Hunza to Fairy Meadows

Depart early for Raikot Bridge. Transfer to a locally operated jeep for the rugged track toward Tattu, subject to safety and access. Walk uphill to Fairy Meadows with a local guide, typically several hours on mountain trails. Combining the drive, jeep and hike makes this a demanding day. Overnight in simple Fairy Meadows accommodation.

Day 9

Beyal and Nanga Parbat Viewpoint

Walk with your guide toward Beyal Camp. Stronger walkers may continue toward a Nanga Parbat Base Camp viewpoint if trail, glacier and weather conditions permit; the extended option is strenuous and not compulsory. Your guide determines a safe turnaround point. Return to Fairy Meadows for a second night in basic mountain accommodation.

Day 10

Fairy Meadows to Skardu

Begin the descent from Fairy Meadows early, walking with your local guide to Tattu before taking the rugged jeep track down to Raikot Bridge, subject to safe access. Rejoin your private vehicle and continue along the Indus Valley road toward Skardu. This is an exceptionally long transfer combining a hike, jeep ride and several hours of driving; arrival may be late, and the plan depends on daylight, road and weather conditions. Overnight Skardu.

Day 11

Fly Skardu to Islamabad and Relax

Transfer to Skardu Airport for the planned flight to Islamabad, subject to confirmed tickets, operating schedules and mountain weather. After arrival, transfer to your hotel and enjoy free time to relax, explore the capital at your own pace or visit a local café. If the flight is cancelled, a road alternative generally requires substantial additional travel time and may affect Day 12 departure plans. Overnight Islamabad.

Day 12

Islamabad Departure

Transfer privately to Islamabad International Airport at the agreed time. Your coordinator confirms the pickup against your international flight. Mountain access remains weather-sensitive, so extra buffer days are recommended for travellers with inflexible onward connections. The twelve-day private journey concludes in Islamabad, with all confirmed transport and accommodation details supplied in your final travel documents.

Accommodation and comfort

Eleven nights: Islamabad (2), Skardu (4), Hunza (3), Fairy Meadows (2). Fairy Meadows offers basic mountain huts or cabins, not luxury accommodation. Other hotels and room categories are confirmed in your quotation.

The Nanga Parbat viewpoint extension is strenuous and optional. Both Skardu flights may be cancelled and road replacement can require extra days. Day 10 is an exceptionally long Fairy Meadows to Skardu transfer involving trekking, local jeep travel and several hours on the road; it requires an early start and favourable conditions. Babusar Pass is never guaranteed. International connections should allow a weather buffer.
